Dsquared2 Spring/Summer 2008 long-sleeved dress, constructed from thick black wool and finished with a contrasting silky bustier-style bodice. The fitted silhouette is defined by gathered detailing across the bust, satin trim and a small bow at the centre, bringing a softer element to the otherwise substantial black fabric. A sleeveless variation of the dress was worn by Rihanna on the Spring/Summer 2008 runway, look #1, during one of Dsquared2's most theatrical shows of the period. Built around a cast of party girls and mechanics, the collection combined the Catens' signature sense of spectacle with revealing silhouettes and exaggerated glamour. The dense black fabric and covered silhouette give the piece a darker, almost gothic quality, while the bustier detailing remains its focal point.
