Miu Miu Fall/Winter 1999 Mary Jane heels by Miuccia Prada. An incredible late-90s Miu Miu design balancing feminine Mary Jane proportions with utilitarian, almost technical detailing. Dark olive leather contrasted with deep green technical mesh, brown webbing straps and adjustable buckle closures. Sculptural block heels paired with an unusual rubber pod sole give them a distinctly sporty, futuristic feel — a perfect example of Miuccia Prada’s ability to make functional materials feel luxurious and desirable. The use of sneaker-like rubber soles and technical materials was characteristic of Miu Miu footwear from this exact Fall/Winter 1999 period. Made in Italy.
